MoFi MasterDeck turntable

We’d almost forgotten about this one! MoFi told us about MasterDeck a year and a half ago, and not much has happened since then. But now the turntable is finally finished and ready to order.

The MoFi MasterDeck is the flagship of the series, which has so far consisted of three models, but the recipe is the same for all four.

It is well above the UltraDeck in price, and in the US, where it is built in small quantities, the price is USD 6,000 before VAT – or tax, as they say over there.

The turntable, available in black and walnut, was developed by Spiral Groove legend Allen Perkins and features belt drive, a 10-inch hybrid tonearm with Cardas internal cables, 33/33, 45 and 75 rpm speeds.

An aluminium and Delrin platter rests on a Spiral Groove bearing and is driven by an orange silicone strap. The tonearm has a removable headshell and you can adjust the horizontal angle (azimuth), tracking angle (VTA) and overhang. The arm can handle a pickup weight from 5 to 14 grams.

The turntable’s 19.5 kg weight rests on four Harmonic Resolution Systems (HRS) damping feet.
