TP Vision, the company behind Philips’ TV and audio products, has held its annual presentation of new products. The presentation took place in Amsterdam, where we had a man on the spot.

On the audio side, the launches were all about headphones. And here, among other things, a new generation of Philips Fidelio was shown (and heard).

We’re talking about the over-ear model Fidelio L4 and the completely wireless earbuds Fidelio T2 TWS. Both models are noise cancelling (ANC) headphones with brand new graphene-coated drivers that should ensure better sound quality. The wireless connection on both is updated to Bluetooth 5.3. Both offer LC3 and LDAC codecs for high-resolution wireless audio.

For training use, TP Vision launched the A5508 TWS and A5608 models. The latter literally goes straight to the bone, as the A5608 are so-called bone conducting headphones, where sound is transmitted as vibrations via the bones. So you’re not “locked in” to your sound bubble while you exercise. A5508 and A5608 both use Bluetooth 5.3 with LC3 codec. And both are IPX5 rated against sweat and water.

Last but not least, Philips headphones are now available for use during the part of the day when you’re not listening to music – at night. Designed in collaboration with sleep scientists, the N780 sleepbuds are said to be “a complete sleep solution” that analyses and measures the quality of one’s sleep.

The N7808 sleepbuds are only 6 mm thick, making them easy to wear in the ear all night long. Sensors monitor the user’s sleep pattern to adjust the sound output, and it automatically turns down when the user falls asleep. The N7808 can not only be used in sleep, but also for making calls and streaming music.

Prices and delivery dates for the headphones are not yet available.

LB Techreviews emphasizes that the travel costs for this report were paid by the manufacturer.
