Since Heinz Lichtenegger from Pro-Ject took over Musical Fidelity, there has been a steady stream of new products coming from Musical Fidelity.
Like this one, the Musical Fidelity M3x DAC. A complete premium DA converter with everything you need at your disposal in one unit.
Available in black or silver grey, the DAC has two optical, two coaxial and one USB input. All with upsampling of 16-bit PCM from CD to 24-bit and 192 kHz for more accurate signal processing and better sound.
The USB input supports 32-bit 192 kHz and DSD256 files.
Signal processing is done with a PCM 1795 DAC from Burr Brown, which is connected to an SRC 4392 sampling converter. It also has balanced outputs on the rear and uses Musical Fidelity’s Super Silent transformers, which are powered via a power jack connected to an EMI filter that eliminates electromagnetic noise.
The M3x DAC also supports Roon clients, a feature that is highly sought after by many users. The price for the DAC is expected to be around 1,500 euros.
