CES 2023: JBL Spinner BT – the first Bluetooth turntable

The upcoming JBL Spinner BT is a simple wireless turntable with Bluetooth 5.2 and aptX HD that plays 33 1/3 and 45 records in Bluetooth speakers. The player comes with an MM pickup from Audio Technica on a removable pickup housing, and has electronic speed control.

The player comes with dust cover, and is built in black MDF with orange details, and has dampening feet under the chassis.

The JBL turntable won’t be in stores until autumn 2023 and is priced at €399.

Spinner BT is not the only turntable from the speaker manufacturer. In fact, there’s a whole range of new products coming in JBL’s Classic series, and the TT350 Classic is one of several.

More expensive than the Spinner BT, it is a direct-drive player with electronic speed control controlled by a sensor that ensures it maintains the correct speed. The player comes in mahogany veneer with an S-shaped aluminium tonearm with removable pickup housing, fitted with an MM pickup.

The TT350 Classic is followed by a new integrated amplifier, called the SA550 Classic, with Class G amplifier modules, turntable input and Bluetooth AptX Adaptive that supports higher quality streaming.

The other two products in the Classic range are a network player called the MP350 Classic and the CD350 Classic CD player. The MP350 can stream over Wi-Fi or Ethernet and is Roon-ready with Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect and support for Chromecast and Apple Airplay.

The CD350 Classic is a CD player that also supports music playback via a USB-A input, allowing you to stream high-resolution music fully digitally from your laptop.

The Classic range is expected to hit shelves in summer 2023, with prices currently set at €1,899 for the SA550 Classic amplifier, €899 for the CD350 Classic, €999 for the MP350 Classic and €1,049 for the TT350 Classic turntable.
