The electronics market in Norway has seen exciting developments! Overall, sales have increased by 1.4% to a staggering NOK 37.25 billion. Audio and video have really taken off, with an increase of 10%, according to Jan Røsholm, CEO of the Norwegian Electronics Industry Foundation.
“The figures for 2025 show that we are now back to pre-pandemic levels and that people are not as uncertain as in previous years due to the low krone exchange rate, high interest rates and the globally uncertain situation.
A slight improvement in the housing market is also having a positive effect on sales of large electrical household appliances,” says Røsholm in a press release from the Norwegian Electronics Industry Foundation.
On the PC, gaming, home office and smart home front, there has been a decline of 15.7%. Laptops, on the other hand, have managed to stay afloat with a slight increase of 2.5%. Home office and gaming products have experienced a decline of 15.7%.
Mobile and smart products
When it comes to mobile and smart products, there has been a slight decline in the number of mobiles sold, with 50,000 fewer units. However, the value has increased by 1.3%, which indicates that Norwegians are choosing more expensive mobiles. In 2025, it is expected that 1,150,000 mobile phones will be sold, of which 238,000 will be used, a decline from 2024. Tablet sales have also fallen by 7.7% to 300,000 units.
Smartwatches and smart wristbands have experienced a significant decline, with a decrease of 27% and 25% respectively. Norwegians seem to prefer the more expensive models.
TV

On the television front, there has been a positive development, with a 4.7% increase in sales to 332,000 units, worth NOK 3.15 billion. 65-inch televisions remain the most popular, but larger televisions are growing in popularity and now have a market share of 18%. OLED TVs have also seen a slight increase and now account for 11% of units sold. 40-inch and 43-inch TVs, on the other hand, have experienced a decline and now account for only 11% of total sales.
88% of Norwegians still watch television and stream on television, but this figure is slowly but surely declining each year. 30% watch television content on their PC, 23% on their tablet and as many as 30% on their mobile phone.
Headphone sales have rebounded, and in 2025 there was an increase of 13%, with 630,000 headphones and 1 million earbuds sold. Bluetooth speakers also saw a significant increase in 2024, with a decline in 2025 to 315,000 units sold and an increase of 21%.
