What will Samsung’s flagship phone in the Galaxy S series be called next year: Galaxy S30 or Galaxy S21? No name has been confirmed yet – but the hottest tip right now seems to be the Galaxy S21. So we call it that for so long.
Regardless of the name, Android Central now reports that the Galaxy S21 will be launched in January 2021.
Sorry, January? Yes you read that right. We are used to Samsung presenting its Galaxy S news in February. But in 2021, it looks like that will change.
Master leaker Steve “Onleaks” Hemmerstoffer has also previously claimed that the Galaxy S21 enters the mass production stage earlier than expected – which confirms the rumor of an earlier launch.
Android Central also writes that the Galaxy S21 comes in three models. A standard model, a plus model and an ultra model. The Ultra model comes with a stylus, just like the Galaxy Note phones. However, it does not seem to have a dedicated place.
New camera module
Steve Hemmerstoffer also claims to be aware of the screen sizes. The standard model is 6.2 inches, flat, with a centered pinhole for the selfie camera. The Ultra model is larger. Here you have to choose between a 6.7- or a 6.9-inch curved screen. No specifications appear.
What else are the differences between the phones? The standard model gets a smaller camera module, yes it almost looks to be twice as big on the ultra model. However, the design is the same. The camera cluster almost looks like an extension of the back of the phone, neatly placed up in one corner. Big lift against the predecessor Galaxy S20.
Whether these renderings are correct remains to be seen. But it should be said that Hemmerstoffer’s renderings are usually very close to the finished product.
