The Pro-Ject Stereo Box DS3 is not big, but it seems to be more potent than its size suggests. We’re talking 150 W power in 4 Ohm, which is more than its predecessor, the Stereo Box DS2.
The new Stereo Box DS3 has also got Bluetooth 5.0 with support for aptX and aptX HD, which is currently the highest quality of Bluetooth streaming.
Vinyl collectors will appreciate that it also has a turntable input for both MM and MC pickups, and it can also be connected to an additional amplifier or subwoofer. The Pro-Ject Stereo Box DS3 also has a headphone output, which delivers 450mW into 32 Ohms, which should be plenty for most headphones.
It is also new that there is a remote control for everything, and like most other Pro-Ject boxes, the Stereo Box DS3 can also be upgraded with larger separate power supplies.
For that extra vintage feel, the Pro-Ject Stereo Box DS3 can be fitted with wooden sides that attach magnetically to the sides. It is also available in black for those who prefer that. The price is listed at €899.
